Job Description

The Larson Group Peterbilt is growing our Human Resources team! As a Human Resource Generalist, you will serve as a pivotal support team member providing guidance in the areas of benefits, compliance, policy, and payroll administration across all TLG locations. The position ensures accurate HR operations that are in alignment with federal, state, and local regulation while also supporting core HR functions.

Responsibilities:

 

Payroll Administration

  • Support end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across multi-state operations
  • Review and process changes to pay data, tax withholding, direct deposit, and garnishments
  • Maintain knowledge of wage laws, overtime, deductions, and special payroll considerations
  • Generate regular and ad-hoc payroll reports; assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end payroll reconciliations and filings

Benefits & Compliance

  • Support in processing benefit changes as a result of qualifying life change events
  • Serve as a support for open enrollment 
  • Review and verify completeness of benefit documents; process benefit verifications
  • Drive compliance with all applicable laws (FLSA, wage/hour, tax laws, etc.) and company policies 
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel records, ensuring legal compliance and audit readiness

HR Operations

  • Provide excellent customer service in response to emails and phone calls requesting HR support services
  • Execute HRIs data changes, support performance management, and participate in HR projects 
  • Serve as a backup for other HR team members as needed
  • Collaborate with HR and department managers to ensure best-in-class service delivery on all people-related matters

  • Participate in the communication and rollout of HR programs, initiatives, and compliance training

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources, Accounting, or a related discipline OR a minimum of 3 years of direct HR/payroll experience in a professional environment
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, PeopleSoft, UKG/Kronos, UltiPro, or similar)
  • Demonstrated experience with federal/state/local payroll compliance, tax reporting, and payroll auditing
  • Experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and general internet-based applications
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service abilities
